Full Tilt Signs Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan

After months of speculation, Full Tilt Poker has finally made it official: Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan is Team Full Tilt Poker’s newest pro. Dwan has long since had a significant presence at the nosebleed stakes cash games, and even chose to host the Durrrr Challenge – his epic heads-up PLO battle with Patrik Antonius – on Full Tilt. Antonius was actually the last pro addition that Full Tilt Made prior to Dwan, who joins the likes of Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Andy Bloch, Eric Seidel, John Juanda, Phil Gordon, Mike Matusow, and Erick Lindgren.

Lederer spoke highly of Dwan and why they chose to add him in the press release that originally announced the news saying, “Team Full Tilt doesn’t take adding a team member lightly, but Tom Dwan has proven, through skill and dynamic play, that he will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come. We are proud to count Tom as one of our own.”

Tom Dwan certainly has an impressive list of accomplishments, so Full Tilt’s actions aren’t surprising; in fact, most of the poker world seems shocked it took them this long to make such an obvious addition. Dwan has over $1 million in live tournament winnings which includes three WSOP final tables, a WPT final table, and winning appearances on ‘Poker After Dark’ and ‘High-Stakes Poker’. Of course, all of his live success pales in comparison to his absolute dominance of the highest online stakes cash games, where he has won millions of dollars over the last few years.

In the coming months, Dwan will continue his Durrrr Challenge bet – he currently holds a $779,248 lead over Antonius through 27K of the 50K required hands – and from there he’ll move on to play Phil Ivey. Tom is also gearing up for the Live Durrrr Challenge which is set to take place in London in the near future. If that isn’t enough, you can always catch up with durrrr on the tables at Full Tilt Poker, where he’s sure to be even more visible than he has recently, which hopefully means a faster pace for the Durrrr Challenge!
