Daniel Negreanu Comments on Tom Dwan

Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreanu, the proud owner of four World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, recently played against Tom “durrrr” Dwan during taping of the fifth season of GSN’s “High Stakes Poker.” The show debuts this Sunday, March 1st, at 9:00pm ET.

Negreanu told durrrrchallenge.com why he elected not to participate in the four-table, 50,000 hand extravaganza against Dwan: “Online poker is not my thing. When I play online, I play one game at a time. I’d be at a big disadvantage because I can’t concentrate on four tables.” In addition to Antonius, Dwan is slated to compete against Phil Ivey and David Benyamine.

We asked one of the most fan-friendly players in poker to comment on Dwan’s cash game play during the taping of High Stakes Poker. He responded, “He’s obviously really good. He’s really aggressive and wild. Dwan does a lot of things that you’d say aren’t fundamentally solid.”

With the Challenge between Dwan and Antonius not even one-tenth of the way through to completion, Negreanu explained that he doesn’t see it actually concluding, something many poker fans have wondered themselves. Negreanu forecasted, “I don’t see the Challenge ending. It’s a big underdog’s bet to happen. If Phil Ivey were to start, it’d be Dwan’s last Challenge. He’s barking up the wrong tree.”
